Dragon Medicine Workshop

A Initiation Into a Fuller Self
with One White Horse Standing

Friday, October 30th through Sunday November 1st, 2009

At Bethel Horizons, Dodgeville, WI

Dragon Medicine is the essence of self-transformation.

The workshop is a shamanic intensive retreat; held in a circle of sacred space where all participants share the experience of their healing journey. The class is structured around using sacred space and various exercises, prayers and journeys to explore your relationship to dragon medicine. As you connect your internal dragons will transform. They might be dragons who already assist and teach you and in that case you will deepen your relationship with them. Or they might be dragons who protect you from your inner traumas at the expense of holding parts of you hostage. Either way the dragons can reveal a path to deeper levels of your heart.

Dragon myths are filled with duality. They are associated with fire and ice. Western myths tend to be filled with the fiery character of dragons. Stories of their power as warriors and the awakening of greed and carnal natures. Eastern culture has focused on the watery side of dragon with stories of magical cures and the search for the elixir of eternal life. In both cultures dragons are connected to royalty. In this workshop we will journey to both the source of fire and water to see what each holds for us as gifts and how we can source our deep healing from them.

On the mythological level, many cultures have myths of dragons or the "world serpent" holding the world together. To "wake the dragon" in these stories will cause earthquakes so big they will break the world apart. In our personal world, we are often prevented from integrating the trauma's that shape us by fears that the world will end. This workshop guides you step by step into transforming your "dragons" into powerful allies for self-knowledge.
