Hi folks;
The Chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times" seems to have been invoked globally. The world weather, economics, and everyday survival seems to be slightly out of kilter. I wonder if it is a time to find out who is chasing their tails while others find clarity and a clear path. I know I have done a bit of both lately.
I have chased my tail for the last month trying to piece together some fragments of my past, flashback memories. Typically, these render an insightful treasure after a few weeks. In this case, I realized that I had crawled deep into a chaotic cavern of depression. The insight was that I was at my limit and needed to pursue more happiness and presence and less wallowing in the darkness of the past.
Simultaneously, I have struggled with being able to concentrate for the last 6-12 months. I could be fully focused in a conversation, but stray faster than a greased pig when trying to read or write. Very frustrating.
This weekend, I ventured into a rock show. It took a few minutes to realize that the three largest labradorite were going to go home with me—about 40 pounds. As happens, I decided to review the qualities of it today. I am sure you will smile as I did as you read about it below.
It reminded me that much of the answers are available if we slow down enough to hear or maybe to be here.
I am exploring offering workshops in Ohio again. It has been a number of years since I have held any here. Likely place with be Camp Asbury in Hiram Ohio. Very similar to Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, complete with residential capability and church ladies cooking dinner. All good. Not sure we will make it this year, however, so stay tuned for sure.
Meanwhile, there is an open workshop at Bethel Horizons January 26-29, 2012. We sell out fast. Contact Marie Smith at 608-647-2366

Labradorite
(Also Known as Spectrolite)
Power #s 6 & 7
Legend
According to an Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. It is told that a wandering Eskimo warrior found them and was able to free most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear. Some of the lights were still trapped within the stone, and thus we have today the beautiful mineral known as labradorite.
Spiritual dimension
Labradorite is a feldspar that can display a spectrum of colors that seem to flame with broad patches of peacock blue, coppery red, and dusky gold. It protects one's aura, by keeping it clear, balanced, shielded, and free from energy leaks. It can assist in the alignment of the subtle bodies, thereby enhancing the connection between the physical and ethereal realms.
Labradorite represents the "temple of the stars". It assists in the understanding, sustaining, and maintaining of the destiny one has chosen. (Personally, I find it helps when moving to a new one or in the next step toward the final version for those that have had many turns in their road of destiny). It brings the light of other planetary beings to the soul of the user. The labradorescence is an extra-terrestrial luminescence of galactic evolved energies.
The energy of the labradorite facilitates transformation of intuition into intellectual thought—supporting knowing to language. It assists one to traverse change by attracting strength and perseverance. It has been known as the matriarch of the subconscious mind. It can provide clarity to the inner awareness to eliminate old and worn-out thoughts that are more disturbing than useful.
The darkness symbolizes the moon. Therefore, it helps one to advance, without constraint, through the cycles of progression, leading to an experience of ascension. The luminescence symbolizes the sun's vitality and a renewed sense of self during transitions (like when you cannot find your butt with either hand) leading to a refinement of action and a clarity of direction (amidst all the frigging chaos).
It unites the personal self with the necessary understanding required to realize and achieve the destiny of this life. It can relieve the insecurity and apprehension of the transformative process, while enhancing faith and reliance in oneself. In time, it can lead to the absolute purity of the universal harmony.
It assists in eliminating the aspects of familiarity that obscures thought and blurs instinct via judgement thereby helping one to bring the precision and originality necessary to one's contemplative patterns.
Like a star gate in alignment, it helps one to know what and when to facilitate beneficial transformations. It is a stone of "beingness". It supports transcending the limitations and restraints of the past and the dreaminess of the future to fully embrace the point of power in the present to create infinite possibilities. It supports the recognition of one's inherent analytical and rational abilities to a crystal clarity that can synthesize intellectual thought with the intuitive, mystical, and psychic wisdom.
Physical dimension
It has been used for the elimination of brain disorders, to stimulate mental acuity, and to reduce anxiety and stress. It has been used to clarify the eyes.

Labradorite is good for balancing old and mature warriors. It makes a Warrior feel like a warrior, by being more organized, capable of being focused, productive, and maintaining concentration for long periods of time without tiring. Makes people feel energized and healed, even when over-producing and over-scheduling themselves or being caught up in the middle of total chaos. It creates a dual awareness of the chaos surrounding and the clarity of sight to move through it (the chaos).
